mending kids international “wings around the world” gala
The Mending Kids International inaugural Wings Around the World Gala celebrated its global impact with a culturally immersive evening highlighting the organization's surgical outreach programs in over 51 countries. Hosted at the historic Vibiana, in downtown Los Angeles, celebrity presenters including Simon Baker, Nia Peeples, Kim Coles, Mark Dacascos, and Madeleine Stowe added star power to an already meaningful night. MKI board member, Dorothy Lucey hosted the dynamic evening program which included live music by Dominic Scott Kay and a high-impact fundraising appeal with Kim Coles, driving donor engagement to support MKI’s global missions.
The gala called for end-to-end event planning, including vendor management, run of show, sponsor integration, live and silent auction, talent coordination, and press and red carpet flow. We worked the venue chefs to design a culinary experience that told a story through food, reflecting the first countries in which MKI began its surgical outreach programs: Ecuador, Ethiopia and the Philippines.
The gala raised critical funds to support MKI’s surgical outreach, and established the Wings Gala as the organization’s flagship annual event. The experience bridged storytelling, culture, and mission-driven impact—setting a precedent for future years.
